About the RoleWe are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support manufacturing operations utilities and maintenance functions within a complex industrial production environment. This position will play a key role in process improvements capital projects equipment reliability and engineering support activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background experience in manufacturing facilities and the ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating across departments.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engineering support to manufacturing utilities and maintenance operations.
- Identify develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Design and support mechanical process systems and equipment installations.
- Develop project scopes cost estimates and feasibility assessments.
- Manage capital improvement projects from concept through implementation.
- Evaluate and specify mechanical equipment including pumps piping systems heat exchangers centrifuges pressure relief devices and related industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Support equipment reliability production efficiency and plant optimization efforts.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve safety capacity product yield and operational performance.
- Assist with facility layouts equipment placement and occasional civil or structural design activities.
- Apply engineering and economic analysis principles to justify project investments.
- Maintain compliance with safety environmental and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with industrial process equipment and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of pumps piping systems pressure systems flow calculations and equipment design.
- Experience supporting capital projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Chemical manufacturing petrochemical specialty chemical refinery or other process manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting plant engineering maintenance utilities or production operations.
