We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support manufacturing operations utilities and maintenance functions within a complex industrial production environment. This position will play a key role in process improvements capital projects equipment reliability and engineering support activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background experience in manufacturing facilities and the ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering support to manufacturing utilities and maintenance operations.
Identify develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
Design and support mechanical process systems and equipment installations.
Develop project scopes cost estimates and feasibility assessments.
Manage capital improvement projects from concept through implementation.
Evaluate and specify mechanical equipment including pumps piping systems heat exchangers centrifuges pressure relief devices and related industrial equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform root cause analysis.
Support equipment reliability production efficiency and plant optimization efforts.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve safety capacity product yield and operational performance.
Assist with facility layouts equipment placement and occasional civil or structural design activities.
Apply engineering and economic analysis principles to justify project investments.
Maintain compliance with safety environmental and quality standards.
Provide technical guidance and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
Key Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience with industrial process equipment and mechanical systems.
Knowledge of pumps piping systems pressure systems flow calculations and equipment design.
Experience supporting capital projects and process improvement initiatives.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Experience
Chemical manufacturing petrochemical specialty chemical refinery or other process manufacturing environments.
Experience supporting plant engineering maintenance utilities or production operations.
Familiarity with equipment specification procurement and installation activities.
