Mechanical EIT

RESPEC seeks a Mechanical EIT (Engineer in Training) to join our Anchorage AK office.

The Mechanical EITs primary focus is on design of heating ventilating and plumbing for facilities supporting new construction and renovations in collaboration with architects civil structural electrical and fire protection engineers. Duties may also include observation and inspection of facility and utility projects. This is a great career opportunity for a dynamic energetic individual looking to grow in their profession.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assist Engineers in calculations.
• Assist Engineers in code review and research.
• Assist Engineers in site investigation
• Assist Engineers in design and Construction Administration (CA).

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications: 

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
• Motivated energetic and a desire to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Detail oriented & well organized.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Desire to learn and advance in technical skills and understanding.
• Must possess a valid drivers license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Preferred qualifications:

• FE certification or ability to acquire with 6 months.

Additional Preferred Experience/Skills

• AutoCAD experience.
• Revit experience.
• Experience with construction.
• Cold region/Alaska experience.
• Knowledge of heat and cooling load calculations and cost estimating.
• Experience with preparing plans specifications and design calculations.
