Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design custom hardware and integrate off-the-shelf parts to expand what the companys robots can do in the field.
• Own the full design structural analysis and testing of actuators grippers and robotic arms built for industrial loads.
• Quickly build leader arms remote-control rigs and data-collection hardware often within days to weeks.
• Work with machine learning electrical and deployment teams to turn physical needs into working robots.
• Take hardware from concept through analysis fabrication and live industrial use.

Requirements

• 04 years of experience in high-ownership mechanical engineering for robotics actuators or hardware products.
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. For junior candidates a strong portfolio can stand in for the degree.
• A visible portfolio of personal or independent hardware projects.
• Experience in university robotics motorsports (such as Formula SAE) or build clubs is highly valued.
• Strong CAD skills and knowledge of designing parts for manufacturing.
• Able to work on-site 6 days a week in San Francisco.
