We are looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join our team Onsite at our Colorado Springs CO site. This is an entry-level position that assembles aircraft products under direct supervision and performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes.

What You Will Do

  • Under direct supervision assembles components by examining connections for correct fit fastening parts and sub-assemblies per customer order

  • Perform routine and standard tasks with minimal assistance

  • Read and assemble standard work or blueprint instructions with some guidance

  • May track and receive the required parts for product area. May check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies parts and fasteners for the particular work order. Contacts material handler or lead if shortages exist or incorrect parts are in bins

  • Participate in all team stand-ups and uses safe ergonomic practices in performing job

  • May pack finished product into designated carton

  • Participate in EHS risk reduction activities

  • Adheres to all UTAS rules and codes of conduct

  • Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace

  • Provides continuous improvement ideas in order to support lean and ACE initiatives

  • May perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary

Working Environment:

  • Perform hand and body warm-up exercises to minimize potential for repetitive motion injuries

  • Lift up to 40 lbs

  • Work in a standing position up to 8 hours per day.

QualificationsYou Must Have

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

QualificationsWe Prefer

  • Operate hand tools electrical tools hand cutters measuring equipment and light equipment

  • Ability to read blueprints with some supervision

  • Basic mechanical knowledge

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Basic Shop Math Skills

  • Experience in installing aircraft fasteners solid rivets double action bolts NAS MS & AN hardware desired

  • Willing to perform any task necessary to ensure the on-time delivery of the product to the customer

  • Willing to cross-train and work in all areas of assembly operation

  • Ability to work in a team environment

The salary range for this role is 34653 USD 60592 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
