Position Overview:TheMechanicis responsible forperforming maintenance repair and diagnostics on vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.This position supports daily operations through expert technical ability precisedocumentationand adherence to safety and regulatory standards.Successful candidates will have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills attention todetailand the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

What Youll Do

KeyResponsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair

  • Clean lubricate and perform routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers specifications.
  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
  • Performpreventativemaintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Service andmaintainbrakingsystems steering mechanisms and other crucial vehicle systems.

Technical Skills and Diagnostics

  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions todeterminerequired repairs using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Inspect vehicles/equipment to verify standards have been met.
  • Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot electronic systems and control units.
  • Calibrate and adjust systems to meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform load testing on batteries and other electrical components.

Documentation and Record Retention

  • Read and understand operating manuals blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Fill out part request forms and order parts when needed.
  • Make and complete work orders.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords of time and materialsto perform repairs and services.
  • Update andmaintainequipment service logs.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation procedures for regulatory and safety standards.

Assembly and Adjustment

  • Fit bearings to adjust repair or overhaul mobile mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Assemble and install new ormodifiedmechanical components or assemblies.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Set and verify tolerances and alignment of components using precision instruments.
  • Rebuild engines and transmissions as needed.
What Youll Bring

Required Education and Experience

  • 5 years of experience inmechanicwork.
  • Experience with heavy diesel repair and maintenance.
  • Experience in heavy & yellow iron equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs.
  • Knowledge of fuel systems; both diesel and gas.
  • Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using a scanner.
  • ExperienceutilizingMicrosoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to manage a schedule and organize time.
  • DOT Medical card Required
  • CDL Class A (Preferred).
  • Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screenings.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Navigate uneven terrain at job sites
  • Use hands to handle tools materials and equipment
  • Bend stoop kneel crouch and climb as
  • Climb ladders and stairs
  • Work at elevated heights when necessary
  • Lift carry and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Maintain visual awareness sufficient to safelyoperatetools and equipment
