Mechanic

Position Overview

The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting maintaining and repairing construction equipment and vehicles in support of utility-scale solar project operations. This role ensures equipment readiness and safety contributing to project efficiency and success.

Essential Functions

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy and light-duty construction equipment including PD-10s excavators loaders skid steers telehandlers trucks and trailers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical hydraulic and electrical issues in the field and in shop settings.
• Document service activities repairs and inspections per company standards.
• Coordinate with the operations team to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
• Support mobilization demobilization and site inventory processes.
• Maintain safe and clean work environments in compliance with company and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with parts ordering inventory tracking and tool management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in construction equipment maintenance and repair.
• Working knowledge of diesel engines hydraulics and electrical systems.

• Proficient with diagnostic tools and basic computer applications.
• Valid drivers license; CDL and/or DOT medical card (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Must be self-motivated with a sense of urgency.

Working Conditions

• 100% travel required; projects are nationally based.
• Construction Site Environment ability to lift 50 lbs. crawl bend reach and climb; exposed to noise dust and weather.
• Office/Shop Environment some standing lifting and computer work.
• Exposure to all weather conditions for extended periods.
