Position: Materials Science Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $60$120/hour
Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Evaluate the accuracy and depth of AI-generated content in materials science to strengthen reasoning and rigor in model outputs.
• Review model-written structure-property reasoning to ensure microstructure explains the property and characterization supports the claim.
• Flag where a models proposed material meets specifications on paper but fails in service due to fatigue corrosion or thermal cycling.
• Develop clear structured feedback to improve AI model performance and training data quality.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency and relevance across datasets.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Graduate degree in materials science or a related field.
• Clear written communication skills.
• Comfort with ambiguous tasks and willingness to flag unclear instructions.
