Materials Manager

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Impacts the teams ability to achieve service quality and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage the Schenectady plant warehouse operations in order to reach defined targets in quality cost delivery and safety with a large focus on supporting Rewenables manufacturing.
• Develop lean standards to deliver parts to the production line to not cause line stoppages.
• Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
• Team management of salaried employees and hourly employees.
• Responsible for direct team development and growth through hiring priority setting and regular performance reviews.
• Drive Continuous Improvement and a larger Lean initiative within the warehouse and throughout the site. Leverage and champion Lean across entire team and shops to propose and implement significant process and production changes.
• Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
• Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
• Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management manufacturing technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Warehouse or Sourching

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $122600.00 and $204400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
