Job Summary:

The Material Handler I/II is responsible for receiving moving storing counting tracking issuing andshipping a variety of production parts materials and supplies. The production floor relies on thisposition to provide the right parts and materials at the right time to meet on-time-delivery goals.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain accurate inventory control by following established work instructions and processes.
  • Complete the cycle count process for Value Stream; Escalate variances in counts as needed
  • Perform root cause investigation on variances in cycle counts
  • Move materials to and from receiving production areas and shipping by hand using sorting
  • bins and carts or other equipment
  • Consult with others (i.e. supervisors buyer planners etc.) to rectify problems such as
  • damages shortages and nonconformance to specifications
  • Unpack receive and stock materials into storeroom location(s); Pack and ship materials in
  • accordance with contract requirements
  • Read work orders to determine material and equipment needs for production cell work
  • Issue critical materials to production cells
  • Respond to unplanned issues with internal customers in a timely manner
  • Aid and/or Backfill coworkers as needed to complete daily tasks
  • Change part stocking methods to better facilitate production needs
  • Ensure compliance with export compliance rules
  • Assist with training new employees and cross training other materials associates
  • Capable of supporting more than one value stream
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3-6 years of relevant manufacturing experience; Previous experience workingwith manufacturing software tools
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials production processes quality control costs andother techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods; Familiarwith lean principles; Understanding of continuous improvement tools
  • Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated outstanding manual dexterity; Demonstrated ability toconcentrate on repetitive tasks; Demonstrated ability to accurately follow detailed workinstructions; Demonstrated ability to understand standard work instructions; Demonstratedability to solve routine problems; Math skills to perform basic calculations; Outstanding verbalcommunication skills; Proficient with MS Office
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microscopes
Eligibility Requirement:This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be a US Department of Defense contractor we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limitedto: eye safety glasses gowning masks hearing protectors heel/wrist straps and any otherrequired PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises cold temperaturesconfined spaces dust or fumes
  • Standing: 50-75% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Sitting: 25-50% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 35 pounds
  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 35 pounds
  • Mental/Visual: use of computer eye-loop
  • Workspace: stand up computer workstation and kitting carts

Salary Range:

Material Handler I - $22.90/hr. - $28.22/hr.

Material Handler II - $25.18/hr. - $31.59/hr.


Several factors contribute to actual salary including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities skills training and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
