Material Handler

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Material Handler in San Diego California for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support warehouse shipping receiving and material-movement operations by loading unloading staging transporting and tracking materials throughout the facility.

Required Skills

• Previous warehouse or material-handling experience.
• Ability to load unload move stack and stage materials.
• Experience using hand trucks carts dollies pallet-handling equipment or similar material-movement equipment.
• Ability to open containers count materials weigh items and record material information accurately.
• Ability to load and unload materials from pallets racks conveyors machines and trucks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to sit stand bend reach and perform physical material-handling tasks for extended periods.
• Valid California drivers license.
• Ability to operate a delivery vehicle.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established shipping receiving and warehouse procedures.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

• SAP or MRP system experience.
• Forklift experience.
• Experience with military-specification shipping and packaging requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

What Youll Do

• Load and unload materials within plant yard warehouse and work areas.
• Support shipping and receiving activities.
• Open containers using appropriate hand tools.
• Count weigh and record incoming and outgoing materials.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets trays racks conveyors machines and trucks.
• Move materials using hand trucks forklifts electric dollies elevators carts and other material-handling equipment.
• Stack stage and organize materials for storage or production use.
• Support movement of heavy materials using appropriate lifting equipment.
• Assist production and machine operators with material movement as required.
• Maintain accurate material-handling and inventory records.
• Operate company delivery vehicles as assigned.
• Follow established safety warehouse and material-control procedures.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Full-time onsite in San Diego California.
• 9/80 work schedule.

Pay

• $33.24 per hour.
