WHAT YOULL DO:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Material Handler to manage the movement storage and transfers of raw materials and finished goods across our this role you will be directly responsible for high-volume logistics including loading/unloading bulk tank trucks unloading railcars and moving train cars within our railyard. The ideal candidate prioritizes a strong sense of personal responsibility to maintain a zero-incident safety culture while meeting production deadlines.
Bulk Shipping & Receiving Logistics
- Tank Truck Operations: Safely load and unload bulk chemical/liquid tank trucks ensuring correct hookups venting and weight distribution.
- Railcar Unloading: Connect monitor and disconnect railcar transfer lines (pumps hoses and manifolds) to safely transfer bulk materials into storage silos or tanks.
- Train Car Movement: Assist in or directly execute the safe switching spotting and moving of train cars within the facility railyard using specialized switching equipment.
- Inventory Handling: Operate heavy machinery including forklifts trackmobiles and yard trucks to transport materials throughout the plant.
Safety Quality & Compliance
- Regulatory Inspections: Perform and document daily regulatory environmental and facility safety inspections in accordance with OSHA DOT and EPA standards.
- PPE Maintenance: Conduct routine checks on personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency station gear (eyewash stations safety showers) to ensure 100% compliance and operational readiness.
- Emergency Preparedness: Follow strict procedural checklists for hazardous material handling and spill prevention.
Personal Responsibility & Professional Ownership
- Safety First Mindset: Take personal ownership of your safety and the safety of your team by actively identifying hazards and stopping unsafe work operations immediately.
- Accountability: Maintain accurate legible paperwork and digital logs for all material transfers seal numbers and weight verifications.
- Dependability: Arrive on time for shifts manage tasks with minimal supervision and take pride in maintaining a clean organized work area (5S standard).
WHAT YOULL NEED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial material handling chemical processing or railyard logistics preferred.
- Proven experience handling bulk liquid/dry transfers via tank trucks and railcars preferred.
- Ability to pass certification for forklifts and specialized railyard switching equipment.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs climb railcar ladders work at heights and operate outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong reading comprehension and mathematical skills to verify shipping manifests and calculate tank capacities.
