Material Handler and Forklift Operator

Seeking a reliable Material Handler and Forklift Operator to join a global manufacturer and distributor of climate control products. This role is ideal for candidates with warehouse experience and strong forklift skills looking to advance their career.

As a Material Handler and Forklift Operator you will be responsible for handling materials supplies and finished products in a warehouse setting. Your duties include receiving verifying packing and routing shipments while operating stand-up forklifts. This contract position offers benefits and a chance to transition to full-time employment.

• PAY RATE: 20:00hr
• HOURS: 6:30am to 3:00pm (M-F)
• LOCATION: Hobart IN 46342

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and clerical duties related to shipment and receipt of materials supplies equipment and finished products under general supervision.
• Receive goods verify items against shipment records and inspect their condition.
• Gather verify and pack items for shipment according to specifications and transportation methods.
• Record received and shipped items following established procedures.
• Route materials supplies and equipment to inspection or stock areas.
• Complete written and computerized documentation accurately.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of stand-up forklift operation experience required.
• Minimum 3 years of forklift operation experience.
• Computer skills necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must complete required pre-employment screening.
• Steel-toe safety footwear required by first day of work.
• Regular and punctual attendance required.
• Knowledge of typical shipping and receiving procedures and ability to handle exceptions.
• Valid drivers license with good driving record may be required.
• Ability to operate powered equipment such as forklifts or hydraulic jack lifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification preferred.
