Masons Laborer

About the Role:

Skillforce is seeking Mason-Laborers for ongoing projects in the Washington DC area. The ideal candidate has experience with constructing repairing and maintaining structures made of brick block stone and other masonry materials. You will collaborate closely with project managers contractors and other tradespeople to interpret blueprints and specifications accurately. This role demands precision physical stamina and a strong understanding of masonry techniques and materials to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Pay:Starts at $24 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in masonry construction including bricklaying block laying and stone setting.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices relevant to masonry work.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
• Osha-10 (preferred)

Responsibilities:

• Concrete repair chipping and reconstruction of various surfaces.
• Read and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Prepare and lay out masonry work including bricks blocks stones and other materials ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity.
• Mix mortar and other bonding agents to appropriate consistency and apply them to masonry units.
• Cut shape and finish masonry materials using hand and power tools to fit project specifications.
• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with safety and building codes.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan and execute daily tasks efficiently.
• Maintain tools equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks on the job site.
