Job Description
General Role

Provide technical support in the development and production of military soft goods such as upholstery cushions and parachutes.

Specific Responsibilities
Assist in the design and development of aircraft and military vehicle seating upholstery and cushions
Train Production department leads in the operation of these industrial sewing machines: Binding machine Serger Walking Foot Double Needle Class 7 and Zig Zag
Establish time standards
Develop flat patterns and templates for soft goods
Work with quality to resolve production issues and ensure customer satisfaction
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings as they pertain to sewing
Develop processes for cutting and bonding non-rigid polyurethane foams
Program fabric cutters and sewing machines

Required Education Experience & Skills
Required Skills
10 years sewing experience
Military standards for sewing materials
Manufacturing using contact adhesives
Production line setup and line balancing for workflow processing
Laser cutting fabrics
CNC fabric cutters
Nesting software for soft goods


Preferred Education Experience & Skills
Preferred Skills
Associates Degree
Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Excel to perform entry-level calculations
Demonstrated ability in AutoCAD to perform develop patterns and templates
Experience with LEAN Manufacturing Principles
Commitment to developing self and supporting the development of others



Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $69089 - $110543
