Location & Schedule:
This is a remote role and the manager is open to fully remote profiles. That being said candidates that can travel to Waukegan IL for meetings and to other AbbVie sites will be considered above fully remote profiles that are not willing to travel.
Travel costs can be expensed.
Role:
Operations M&A space. Day one readiness supporting a transition to AbbVie standards. Green field and brown field initiatives. Existing site and expanding them building out new plans etc.
End-to-end process flows all the way down to usage decision. Works across all application teams. Design and reinvent new capabilities.
Required:
GMP experience and experience working with manufacturing systems.
Must have experience with building out integrations across applications.
SAP & MES system experience is required. (Preferred in IT/OT environment).
8 years of experience required.
Preferred:
Experience working within the pharmaceutical space is a bonus but not required. However wants someone to understand GMP.
Former AbbVie experience is also a bonus.
Duration:
Will extend. Expects a multi-year engagement.
Education:
Bachelors degree required.

Description:
We have a new 12-month contract opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Solutions Architect supporting manufacturing system design and implementation. This is a remote onshore role with a preference for candidates in the Chicago area and approximately 5% travel.
The ideal candidate will bring 811 years of experience designing and integrating manufacturing systems across enterprise IT and operational technology environments. Key experience should include ERP MES WMS PLM PLCs SCADA historians industrial IoT and shop-floor equipment along with the ability to define end-to-end architectures APIs data flows integration patterns and scalable platforms across multiple plants or regions.
The typical schedule is 40 hours per week with occasional off-hours support for critical issues.
Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure that systems support the organizations business requirements and meet the needs of end users.
Defines systems requirements based on user/client needs cost and required integration with existing applications systems or platforms. Defines technical standards and functionality tests. May develop specifications prototypes or initial user guides.
Typically requires a bachelors degree and experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts practices and procedures.
Generally supports unique/rare skills or niche/emerging technologies such as BIG Data CRM Enterprise Architect SAP and TIBCO.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
