Job Summary

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Planner in Palmdale California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position focuses on manufacturing work-instruction planning rather than supply-chain resource or production scheduling. The planner will analyze engineering data and manufacturing requirements to create comprehensive shop-floor instructions supporting aircraft parts assemblies systems and related manufacturing operations.

Required Skills

  • 5 years of experience creating manufacturing work instructions or equivalent manufacturing/engineering documentation.
  • Experience developing work instructions for one or more of the following: machined parts composite details composite assemblies airframe structures aircraft systems aircraft checkouts wiring and electrical systems plumbing aircraft maintenance MRB or coatings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints process specifications and manufacturing work-instruction planning.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings models specifications and other technical references.
  • Strong technical and instructional writing skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of fabrication tooling manufacturing and inspection methods or processes.
  • Experience with manufacturing planning applications such as SAP CAPP/SFM Solumina/iBASEt Teamcenter 3DX or comparable systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Degree in Engineering Manufacturing or a related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience.
  • Understanding of Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM) Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM) and Order Bills of Material (OBOM).
  • Experience resolving EBOM MBOM or OBOM issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools such as CATIA SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter Windchill or SAP PLM.
  • Experience with ERP systems and product-data management tools.

What Youll Do

  • Analyze engineering drawings models specifications processes and manufacturing requirements.
  • Determine practical manufacturing operations sequences tooling requirements and inspection steps.
  • Develop comprehensive manufacturing work instructions and supporting documentation.
  • Support planning for machined parts composites airframe structures aircraft systems wiring maintenance MRB coatings and other manufacturing areas.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Planning Tool Design Tool Shops and Production.
  • Interpret engineering and tooling requirements and translate them into economical executable shop-floor instructions.
  • Maintain and revise manufacturing planning as engineering or production requirements change.
  • Investigate discrepancies between shop fabrication activities and approved planning and support corrective actions.
  • Use manufacturing and model-based engineering systems to develop and maintain production documentation.

Pay

  • $19.00$60.00 per hour.
