POSITION SUMMARY:
Borden Dairy is seeking a safety-conscious and quality-focused professional to join our team as a Maintenance this dynamic role you will install maintain and repair production and manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturers specifications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform BASIC preventative maintenance inspection and service on all production and manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company guidelines.
- Perform BASIC troubleshooting diagnosis repair and maintenance of equipment to the desired companys performance standards.
- Interface troubleshoot diagnose and repair electronic computerized systems and equipment
- Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset assisting in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Comply with all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
- Use all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Possess the necessary personal tools to perform duties.
- Supports team and organizational goals through additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training in manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair; or equivalent combination of continued education and experience.
Other Functions:
- Ability to read write perform basic mathematical calculations and accurately record data required.
- Must be willing to work overtime weekends holidays and varying shifts as required.
- Must be able to frequently stand walk kneel reach climb pull and bend with full range of body motion.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to troubleshooting and problem solving is required.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g. starters fuses contacts relays).
- Experience with conveyors (air cylinders diverters sensors motor/speed controls).
- Experience with electrical systems (installation frequency drive troubleshooting)
- Experience with electronics (e.g. level probes flow meters drives/VFDs etc.).
- Experience with gearing and gear boxes (rebuilds ordering parts machining parts).
- Experience with hydraulic systems (high pressure cylinders pumps valves troubleshooting).
- Experience with kinematics (e.g. line speed/sprocket size ratios etc.).
- Review rating instructions.
- Experience with packaging/high speed production (e.g. bottling consumer products etc.).
- Experience with pneumatics (solenoids cylinders motor brakes reading troubleshooting).
- Experience with pneumatics/air compression (e.g. valves cylinders etc.).
- Experience with preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data).
- Experience with pumps (e.g. troubleshooting replacing seals/motors understanding specs).
Certificates Licenses Registrations:
- PLC HVAC Ammonia Refrigeration or other specialty certifications preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in hot and cold climates both indoors and outdoors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to frequently stand walk kneel reach climb pull and bend.
- Must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work for extended periods in a cold damp environment.
