Our team in Military Aircraft is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join them. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Technical Leader and will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora NY.
As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer you ll be at the forefront of both new product development and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. You ll work hands-on with high precision parts applying advanced CNC programming and machining knowledge to solve challenges and optimize performance.
As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer you will:
- Create detailed operation sheets and CNC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies.
- Define manufacturing sequences tooling gauging and machine requirements to streamline production.
- Work closely with engineering quality production and vendors to resolve issues and enhance manufacturability.
- Be hands-on in the production environment assisting with program prove-outs and troubleshooting.
- Recommend and implement process enhancements tooling upgrades and design modifications.
- Assist in estimating costs and timelines for new proposals and tooling development.
To be considered for this role typically you ll bring:
- A bachelor s degree in a technical field with 3 years of relevant professional experience or an associate degree with 6 years of relevant professional experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of proven professional experience
- 3 years CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software.
- Experience with mill-turn machines
- Strong knowledge of process engineering from raw material to finished product.
- Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to work effectively across departments.
It d be great if you also had:
- A degree in Mechanical Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
- Background in the aerospace industry
- Experience with machine automation integration
- Skills in inspection of machined parts
- Hands-on experience machining stainless steel titanium and aluminum
- Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus
