Peak to Creek Precision Staffing is partnering with a well-established manufacturer in the Thompson CT area specializing in highly engineered electromechanical systems for mission-critical industrial and defense applications.
This role supports the Controls Engineering team by developing and maintaining manufacturing processes ERP engineering data CNC programming tooling and continuous process improvements. Working in a collaborative modern manufacturing environment this position partners closely with Engineering Production Quality and Supply Chain to ensure high-performance products are manufactured safely efficiently and to exact technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process & ERP Engineering:Create and maintain bills of manufacture (engineering masters) routings and related manufacturing data within the enterprise ERP system.
  • Tooling & CNC Programming:Develop and support CNC programs for fabrication equipment (including sheet metal processing) and design custom tooling/fixtures to optimize production throughput.
  • Cross-Functional Troubleshooting:Investigate manufacturing bottlenecks non-conforming products and technical issues alongside Quality Engineering and Production teams.
  • Continuous Improvement:Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity reduce cost and enhance overall quality standards.
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM):Review engineering change orders and collaborate with design teams regarding production methods tooling needs and make-vs-buy evaluations.
  • Equipment & Tech Evaluation:Assess and recommend new manufacturing equipment tooling and automation technologies to expand shop floor capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Education:Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing Technology or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Technical Proficiency:Hands-on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and ERP manufacturing software (BOMs/routings).
  • Schematics & Drawings:Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Problem Solving:Strong root-cause analysis troubleshooting and project organization skills.
  • Work Authorization:Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
  • Mobility:Ability to work on the shop floor in Thompson CT as needed and travel occasionally (domestic/international).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication CNC programming and machining processes.
  • Applied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (Six Sigma Kaizen Kanban or 5S).
  • Experience assisting with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and customer proposal/quotation support.
