Description

Centrotherm Eco Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to improve manufacturing operations through process development equipment implementation continuous improvement and technical problem-solving. Reporting to the Director of Operations this role uses engineering principles and manufacturing data to improve safety quality efficiency ergonomics cost and production capability. Manufacturing Engineer II works cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering Quality Maintenance Supply Chain and external vendors to support production processes equipment documentation and new equipment sourcing and install and improvement projects.

Job Duties:

  • Manage moderately complex manufacturing engineering projects focused on safety quality productivity ergonomics capacity and cost improvement and new equipment installation.
  • Develop project timelines requirements status updates and resource needs for assigned manufacturing and capital improvement projects.
  • Research and evaluate equipment tooling materials technologies and vendors to support manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products including layouts process flows production methods tooling jigs fixtures and other manufacturing aids using 3D CAD software.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including drawings BOMs routings work instructions process documentation and shop aids.
  • Support equipment installations process changes and manufacturing launches from planning through implementation.
  • Support the maintenance department with TPM software including setting TPM intervals and content. Manage and create stocking list for critical spares inventory.
  • Support prototype and first-article production by working with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify and resolve process or design issues.
  • Lead assigned continuous improvement activities using Lean manufacturing and structured problem-solving methods including PDCA 5 Why 8D Standard Work process flow analysis and Kaizen.
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify trends root causes improvement opportunities and KPI performance.
  • Lead or support root-cause investigations related to quality equipment process or manufacturing performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Support capital project analysis by gathering data related to cost capacity productivity and expected return.
  • Work with production employees and technicians to implement process improvements and provide technical training as needed.
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing Engineer I employees and technicians as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe clean and organized work environment and incorporate safety and ergonomic requirements into processes and projects.
  • Perform other duties projects and assignments as needed.
Requirements

Experience and Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience developing and improving manufacturing processes equipment tooling fixtures and plant layouts.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing continuous improvement root-cause analysis and corrective-action tools such as 5 Why 8D and PDCA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use manufacturing data to support improvements and engineering decisions.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software; Creo experience preferred.
  • Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation including drawings BOMs routings work instructions and process documentation.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing data.
  • Ability to manage moderately complex projects and coordinate across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain technical information to production employees vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail organization and follow-through.
