Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer position is accountable for planning developing designing and coordinating manufacturing improvements in assigned Small Packaging Metal facilities. Specific accountabilities include: evaluating manufacturing processes to improve product quality process efficiency and machine reliability; improving workflow; validating implemented improvements; preparing manufacturing process documentation; and conducting failure analyses.

Responsibilities:

• Manage activities of cost reduction projects write AFE update reports.
• Monitor and improve machine processes develop work instructions and train employees.
• Improve OEE across the plant by using downtime tracking tools and creating Pareto charts of downtime events.
• Experience with IIOT or Industry 4.0 to collect data with the latest technology of integrated downtime tracking tools.
• Participate in implementing safety improvements.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
• Assist in determining root causes and provide corrective action for customer product complaints.
• Participate in projects that support reducing downtime and scrap.
• Organize plan and commission new or modified production lines.
• Investigate operational problems affecting production in a systematic and methodical manner.
• Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results and sustainability.
• Develop appropriate manufacturing process documentation for integration into the companys quality system.
• Provide training to operators supervisors and managers on new or modified processes.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline; preferably manufacturing mechanical or industrial.
• Recent Engineering graduate with 2 years or more experience in Engineering or Manufacturing functions.
• Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality improvement methods including Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Desired attainment of nationally recognized certification in manufacturing engineering such as AME or SME.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone or in a team environment with limited supervision.
• Excellent computer and data analysis skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
• SAP & Data Analysis (such as Minitab) experience is a plus.
