Type W2 contract (No C2C)

1st shift 6- 2:30 PM OT hours needed if requested. Metatarsal safety boots are required on their first day.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Manufacturing Engineer II located in Dubuque IA you will plan coordinate and perform manufacturing engineering work supporting machining sheet metal and tool design processes. You will work in a team environment to develop and improve manufacturing processes equipment and engineering solutions that meet established safety quality cost and project requirements.

• Analyze manufacturing information and define the methods process steps machinery tooling and equipment needed to support production
• Design and continuously improve manufacturing processes and systems to achieve cost and quality objectives
• Develop engineering solutions and coordinate feasibility testing to support solution development and validation
• Support the development application and evaluation of engineering standards and specifications
• Inspect engineering work equipment installations or structures and recommend corrective actions needed to meet specifications and regulatory requirements
• Identify shortcomings in existing processes systems and procedures and implement improvements through established change management processes
• Coordinate activities with suppliers subcontractors and other external resources in accordance with established project and contract management plans
• Support product development and engineering activities by analyzing customer needs and delivering appropriate manufacturing solutions
• Manage assigned engineering activities within established project plans schedules and goals
• Provide technical support and guidance to help others effectively use engineering and knowledge management systems

SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS

• Manufacturing engineering experience involving machining sheet metal fabrication tooling equipment or related manufacturing processes
• Ability to develop implement test and improve engineering designs and manufacturing solutions
• Experience preparing and applying technical engineering specifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to interpret complex or conflicting information
• Ability to plan prioritize and manage work within an established project schedule
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with different audiences
• Ability to make timely decisions and remain accountable for commitments
• Knowledge of safe work systems applicable policies regulations and risk-management practices
• Ability to work collaboratively with production teams suppliers contractors and other engineering functions

Education

• Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in one of the following:
• Bachelors degree in manufacturing engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline
• Equivalent manufacturing engineering education training and relevant professional experience
