Job Summary
Position Overview:
The Manager Student Support provides regional leadership and oversight for School Counseling Section 504 ESOL student well-being and mental health supports crisis response and student and family support partnerships. This position is year-round.
The Manager serves as a consistent regional resource for counselors and school leaders by providing guidance coaching resources and problem-solving support while developing clear and consistent systems across campuses. Through this work the Manager helps ensure students have access to the academic social-emotional and individualized supports they need to be successful.
Specific Position Duties:
School Counseling & Student Support
Coach and support school counselors across campuses.
Strengthen consistent counseling practices and student support systems.
Help schools problem-solve barriers impacting student success and well-being.
Student Wellness & Crisis Support
Support student mental health wellness and early-intervention efforts.
Help coordinate counseling and resources during grief crisis or other significant student needs.
Connect schools and families with appropriate community resources and supports.
Section 504 & ESOL
Provide regional guidance and support for Section 504 and ESOL programs.
Support consistent documentation services accommodations and compliance.
Provide schools with practical tools training and resources.
District & Community Partnerships
Serve as a regional contact for DCPS and community partners related to student support.
Help schools understand and implement district guidance and requirements.
Strengthen partnerships and resources available to students and families.
Regional Testing Support
Support regional coordination of state district and school-based testing.
Provide guidance and problem-solving support to school testing coordinators.
Help ensure appropriate student accommodations are planned and implemented.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Partner with school and regional leaders to strengthen student support systems.
Identify trends needs and opportunities for improvement across campuses.
Elevate significant concerns to the Director of Student Services
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education School Counseling Social Work Psychology or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in school counseling student services student support or a related area.
Experience supporting students families and school-based teams.
Experience with Section 504 and ESOL compliance including documentation monitoring and implementation requirements.
Experience supporting or coordinating state district or school-based testing.
Strong communication organization problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
Ability to coach and support staff while managing multiple priorities across campuses.
Ability to use student and program data to identify needs and improve support.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in School Counseling Education Social Work Psychology Educational Leadership or a related field.
Florida School Counselor certification or other relevant professional certification.
Experience leading coaching or developing school counselors or student support staff.
Experience supporting student mental health crisis response or community-based services.
Experience working across multiple schools or in a district regional or network-level role
Compensation
The annual salary for this position starts at $53000
