Job Description:
The Manager Network Operations & UC Engineering Services is a critical high-impact player-coach leadership role responsible for steering Clients enterprise communications and edge networking infrastructure through a transformative period.
- Serve as a key strategic partner and right hand to the Director of Network Services.
- Provide hands-on technical oversight and mentorship for the Voice Services team following a major transition to a modern Unified Communications (UC) platform.
- Lead the strategic convergence of the Voice Services and Network Operations teams into a unified network and communications engineering organization.
- Foster organizational change skill development technology integration and operational excellence.
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Evolution
Strategic Partnership
- Partner closely with the Director of Network Services to shape:
- Long-term vision
- Operational roadmaps
- Architectural standards
- Support unified communications and network infrastructure initiatives.
- Lead the integration of the Voice Services and Network Operations teams.

- Develop performance metrics.
- Ensure high availability and service delivery across all campus locations.

- Cisco Unity
- Cisco CUBE Gateways
- WebEx Calling/Hybrid
- Cisco Endpoints
- Analog Gateways
- Manage:
- Inbound SIP trunking
- Outbound SIP trunking
- Carrier relationships
- Call routing topologies
- Oversee:
- T-Metrics call center platforms
- NICE public safety call recording
- Bandwidth Technology E911 compliance platforms
- Ensure integration with:
- Microsoft AD/LDAP
- Shibboleth
- Duo Security
Enterprise Network Engineering & Infrastructure
- Oversee operation maintenance and expansion of Clients edge network across:
- 400 network rooms
- 5 premises
- Provide technical direction for:
- 800 Extreme Networks devices
- 4300 Aruba Wireless Access Points
- Lead:
- Network topology planning
- Hardware lifecycle management
- Provisioning standards
- Edge-to-core connectivity strategies
- Partner with network architecture teams to optimize:
- Routing
- VLAN configurations
- Quality of Service (QoS)
- Voice and video traffic performance
- Security segmentation across wired and wireless environments
Requirements
Education
- Bachelors degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology Systems
- Related discipline
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in:
- Network Engineering
- Unified Communications Engineering
- Minimum 5 years in:
- Management
- Team Lead
- Senior Supervisory role
- Demonstrated success leading technical teams through:
- Organizational change
- Team mergers
- Infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Expert-level knowledge of:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
- Cisco WebEx
- Cisco CUBE
- SIP Architecture
- Complex VoIP environments
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Enterprise edge/access networking
- Hardware provisioning
