Manager Maintenance

What you will do

• Responsible for developing implementing maintaining monitoring and improving maintenance activities in a generating plant environment.

• Responsible for the overall management and supervision of maintenance activities including ensuring the effective implementation of maintenance strategies policies and procedures to support the safe reliable and efficient operation of the plant.

• Accountable for developing and implementing comprehensive long and short-range maintenance plans. These plans involve analyzing equipment performance identifying maintenance needs scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities and coordinating with other departments to optimize plant availability and minimize downtime.

• Overall responsibility for work order management. Provide guidance and assistance to employees in preparing maintenance work requests. Review Work Orders for completeness and accuracy and ensure proper utilization of work management system.

• Collaborates closely with other departments such as operations engineering procurement and finance to ensure seamless coordination and communication. This includes participating in cross-functional meetings sharing information addressing operational challenges and supporting the overall goals of the power plant.

• Prepare recommend and monitor maintenance budget and assist in planning capital budgets to ensure adequate funds for mechanical electrical control and instrument maintenance requirements on an annual and 5-year basis.

• Directly participates in the development of plant specific goals and objectives.

• Assists in overall budget planning for the plant and takes responsibility for developing implementing and explaining variances of the maintenance budget plan.

• Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energys Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.

Education Requirements

• Bachelors Degree Preferred

Required Experience

• 5 years of related experience

• 3 years supervisory experience or equivalent.

• Prefer that the candidate live within 45 minutes of the plant.

• Must possess a valid drivers license.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of process controls (Provox Mark V etc.) preferred. Demonstrated effective leadership skills.

• Demonstrated financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting.

• Demonstrated effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g. e-mail word processing spreadsheet and project management).

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
