Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced equipment manager to lead a combined team of equipment engineers and equipment technicians supporting Microchips wafer fabrication operations in Lawrence Massachusetts. As Equipment Engineering Manager you will oversee the performance reliability maintenance and continuous improvement of critical fab equipment while developing a skilled collaborative technical organization.

  • Lead mentor and develop a team of 5-7 equipment engineers and equipment technicians.
  • Establish team priorities staffing plans performance expectations and development goals aligned with fab objectives.
  • Ensure effective coordination between equipment engineering equipment technicians manufacturing process engineering maintenance and facilities.
  • Assign and prioritize daily engineering and technical support activities based on production needs equipment performance safety and business priorities.
  • Direct equipment sustaining activities including troubleshooting preventive and predictive maintenance equipment recovery upgrades and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure technicians have the training tools procedures spare parts and technical support needed to perform work safely and effectively.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions that improve equipment performance and prevent recurrence.
  • Initiate or lead teams for equipment installation and equipment upgrades.
  • Manage equipment improvement projects capital requests supplier relationships schedules budgets and risks.
  • Develop and maintain equipment standards operating procedures troubleshooting guides maintenance strategies and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with cleanroom safety environmental quality ESD and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety accountability technical excellence teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership support for production issues including occasional off-shift weekend or on-call activities as required.
  • As needed provide or coordinate support for a sister fab in Lowell Massachusetts.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical electrical manufacturing industrial mechatronics engineering or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience supporting semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment and processes such as lithography etch deposition implant diffusion CMP clean metrology or wet processing.
  • 3 or more years of experience managing or leading both engineering and technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex semiconductor manufacturing or automated equipment.
  • Experience with equipment reliability preventive maintenance qualification upgrades and continuous-improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving and root-cause-analysis methods.
  • Experience managing projects priorities resources schedules and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach technical employees assess performance resolve conflicts and build effective teams.
  • Strong written verbal interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience with vacuum systems robotics motion control PLCs sensors machine vision industrial networks or automated material-handling systems.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control fault detection equipment monitoring reliability-centered maintenance Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma or Kaizen.
  • Experience with equipment installation site acceptance testing qualification technology transfer and capital-project execution.
  • Experience managing equipment suppliers contractors and service providers.

The annual base salary range for this position which could be performed in the US is $91000-$247000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location skills and experience.
