We are seeking a Manager DevOps / Cloud Platform to lead a team responsible for CI/CD Internal Developer Portal (IDP) and cloud infrastructure automation in Azure and AWS. This role combines technical depth with people leadership and drives platform reliability observability developer experience and DevOps maturity across the organization.

Duties and responsibilities as they align to Ryans Key Results

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor DevOps / Cloud Engineers; manage performance and development plans.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration continuous learning and accountability.
  • Oversee CI/CD standardization for and workloads.
  • Drive Internal Developer Portal adoption and golden path enablement.
  • Guide Terraform and Infrastructure as Code standards and guardrails.
  • Embed DevSecOps best practices into pipelines and cloud platforms.
  • Lead Proof-of-Concept initiatives for new tools and automation improvements.

People

  • Lead mentor and develop a high-performing team.
  • Provide career guidance performance feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Promote inclusion trust and engagement across distributed teams.

Client

  • Partner with internal engineering teams to deliver scalable reliable and secure DevOps platforms.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Ensure responsive high-quality service and proactive communication with stakeholders.
  • Align platform capabilities with client needs to maximize business impact.

  • Drive automation operational efficiency and cloud cost optimization across Azure and AWS.
  • Deliver self-service platform capabilities to accelerate developer productivity.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in CI/CD infrastructure as code and observability.
  • Continuously improve service reliability scalability and performance while minimizing risk.

Education and Experience:

  • 8 years of experience in DevOps cloud engineering or platform engineering.
  • 2 years of people leadership experience.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Harness GitHub Actions Jenkins).
  • Hands-on AWS and/or Azure expertise from architecture to operations.
  • Extensive Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of public cloud architecture and operations (Azure and AWS).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java NodeJS Python unix shell.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes containers and service mesh technologies.
  • Strong collaboration transparency and stakeholder management skills.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • AWS and/or Azure certifications (Professional-level preferred).

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise a team of DevOps and cloud platform engineers.
  • Manage recruitment onboarding training and performance.
  • Allocate resources effectively across projects and operations.
  • Establish clear goals and accountability for the team.

  • For other California based roles the base salary hiring range for this position is $147000.00 - $181885.00
  • For Colorado based roles the base salary hiring range for this position is $141000.00 - $192940.00
  • For Illinois based roles the base salary hiring range for this position is $147000.00 - $181885.00
  • For other Illinois based roles the base salary hiring range for this position is $141000.00 - $192940.00
  • For Maryland based roles the base salary hiring range for this position is $141000.00 - $192940.00
