Summary

This position is responsible for implementing an environmental management system to ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations at one or more locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the Wastewater Supervisor and Wastewater Operators.
• Create and implement environmental programs.
• Write compliance plans.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for compliance.
• Develop and submit permit applications.
• Implement waste minimization programs.
• Ensure on-time reporting of all required compliance-based reports.
• Communicate any non-compliant issues.

Environmental Programs Include

• Clean Air Act
• Clean Water Act
• Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA)
• Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
• Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA)
• Oil Pollution Act
• Safe Drinking Water Act
• Other local state and federal environmental regulations

Additional Responsibilities

• Lead location management to ensure compliance.
• Maintain relationships with local state and federal regulators.
• Support spill response activities.
• Under the direction of the Area Environmental Manager serve as an organizer facilitator analyst and problem-solver on environmental compliance with the goal of zero environmental exceedances.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelors degree in Natural Science Environmental Science or Engineering required.

Experience

• 4 years of environmental experience or
• 2 years of environmental experience and successful completion of the Tyson Foods Environmental Trainee Program.
• Food production industry experience is a plus.

Computer Skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including:
  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
• Basic computer skills to utilize compliance databases such as eCAT and Incident Tracker.

Communication Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of Team Members.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

• Travel Requirement: Up to 25% travel
