Position Overview

The Manager Automation Manufacturing Applications leads the implementation maintenance and performance management of automation
systems and applications specifically Manufacturing Execution System (MES) platforms historian and batch reporting systems. The
Manager leads the lifecycle management for applications creates plans for 24/7 support tracks issues and resolutions with internal and
vendor teams and ensures compliant reliable and secure operations supporting manufacturing goals. The Manager also prioritizes and
governs the related portfolio of projects enhancements and upgrades balancing risk capacity budget and return on investment while
leading and developing a team of engineers.

Establishes clear expectations for the manufacturing applications team and implements the automation strategy aligning with site objectives
Manages daily operations of the automation team ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion of activities
Leads and develops a high-performing multi-disciplined team of engineers through servant leadership while fostering a People First culture where members feel valued respected and supported
Drives continuous learning and development culture through coaching mentoring succession planning competency development and performance management
Represents and owns decision making authority for the automation team on areas of responsibility including local and global cross functional teams
Leads the improvement strategy lifecycle and performance monitoring of automation systems and manufacturing applications
Serves or manages team members who act as System Owner for designated platforms with end-to-end accountability for availability performance backup/restore and disaster recovery
Leads tracking and closures of deviations and CAPAs
Owns OPEX budget tracks financial expenditure against budget and provides updates and escalations as required
Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones to drive data-informed decisions identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements initiatives to improve operational efficiency effectiveness and sustainability
Partners with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of automation projects while maintaining FLBNs One Team approach
Ensures proper documentation compliance with regulatory requirements including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) across all automation systems and processes
Provides technical direction and drives team capability through structured training initiatives
Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency
Builds and maintains relationships with external vendors and global colleagues to support systems and processes implements best practices and specifically coordinates with FLBD for maintaining a common MES library
Evaluates team performance implements measures to improve productivity and engagement and partners with People & Culture to recruit retain and develop talent
Performs other duties as assigned

Effective communication both written and oral with the ability to adapt communication style to differing audiences and advise on difficult matters
Demonstrated ability to hire and develop technical talent to build a high performing team
Ability to effectively present information to others
Ability to optimize talent by conducting impactful 1:1s delivering actionable feedback and utilizing team health to drive improvement
Build effective internal and external relationships for cross-functional collaboration across technical and non-technical domains
Ability to identify bottlenecks run root-cause analysis and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Ability to select vendors and provide cost estimates for projects
Comfortable working in a fast-paced uncertain and shifting environment while managing multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
Ability to configure and troubleshoot Emerson Syncade platform Emerson DeltaV
Must be flexible to support 24/7 manufacturing facility

High School diploma or GED with 8 years related experience OR
Bachelors Degree with 4 years of related experience OR
Masters Degree with 2 years of related experience
Degree with emphasis in life science or engineering preferred
4 years experience managing people
Experience working in a changing project driven organization
Previous experience directly supporting function
Experience with regulatory inspections investigations and change management preferred
Experience in pharmaceutical / biological manufacturing operations preferred
Experience leading others in a pharmaceutical/biological manufacturing facility preferred
