Description

The Manager Accounts Payable & Receivable is responsible for leading the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions for Modern Aviations network of locations across the United States and Puerto Rico. This role ensures the accuracy integrity and timeliness of financial transactions maintains strong internal controls supports compliance and audit activities and develops a high performing team that delivers exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead coach and develop the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team.
  • Manage recruiting hiring onboarding training performance management and employee development activities.
  • Identify training opportunities and implement ongoing development programs to enhance team performance and effectiveness.
  • Foster a collaborative accountable and customer focused work environment.
Accounts Payable Management
  • Oversee the full accounts payable process ensuring vendor invoices are accurately entered and approved.
  • Manage vendor payment cycles and ensure timely processing of pay runs.
  • Review vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable records and ensure proper ledger reconciliation.
  • Post monthly purchasing card transactions into the accounting system.
Accounts Receivable Management
  • Oversee accounts receivable activities ensuring customer transactions are accurately posted and statements are distributed timely.
  • Monitor customer account balances and coordinate collection efforts when necessary.
  • Partner with General Managers to review and manage outstanding receivable balances at each Modern Aviation location.
  • Ensure accounts receivable records are accurate complete and properly reconciled.
Financial Controls Compliance & Reporting
  • Establish maintain and improve internal controls policies and procedures related to accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.
  • Ensure accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers remain balanced and accurate.
  • Partner with the Compliance Manager and Lead Accountant General Ledger to maintain accounting accuracy and financial data integrity.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing timely accurate documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local state and federal regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Respond to ad hoc financial reporting requests and organizational inquiries as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Business Administration Finance or a related field OR equivalent combination of experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing direct reports in an Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable or accounting environment.
  • Experience overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes in a multi location organization required.
  • Experience with accounting software required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred.
  • Valid drivers license.

Working conditions and physical demands for this role

  • Constantly operates a computer and standard office equipment including printers copiers and scanners.
  • Regularly communicates with employees customers vendors and business partners.
  • Frequently performs activities such as sitting standing walking reaching bending stooping and grasping.
  • Ability to travel occasionally throughout the Modern Aviation network approximately three times per year.
  • May be required to work evenings weekends or additional hours to meet business needs and deadlines.

Aviations Pay Range

$75000- $90000 bonus benefits.

The Modern Aviation pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data or other laws.
