Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operation and upkeep of a commercial facility. This position will serve as a first point of response for building maintenance needs tenant requests and general facility issues.
The ideal candidate will have a strong general maintenance background good communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot building issues and determine when outside vendor support is required.
Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM5:00 PM
Location: 20800 Swenson Dr. Suite 490
Parking: On-site parking available
Interview Process: One virtual interview followed by one onsite interview
On-Call: Occasional on-call opportunities may be required though after-hours calls are infrequent
The Maintenance Technician performs hands-on maintenance inspections troubleshooting and general repair work throughout the facility. This individual will respond to tenant service requests perform preventive maintenance identify building system issues and coordinate with vendors when specialized repairs are required.
This role requires someone who can communicate professionally with tenants work collaboratively with the facilities team and remain flexible as priorities change throughout the day.
Perform general building maintenance and repair tasks including painting pressure washing lighting maintenance minor plumbing repairs locksmith work and general facility upkeep
Respond promptly and professionally to tenant maintenance and service requests
Troubleshoot HVAC-related issues and identify when specialized vendor support is required
Serve as the initial point of assessment for mechanical and building system concerns
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and routine facility inspections
Monitor building systems and report or escalate abnormalities as needed
Maintain accurate and timely updates within the work order management system
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when repairs require specialized expertise
Support lighting systems including replacement of bulbs and ballasts as permitted
Assist with basic plumbing door hardware and general carpentry-related repairs
Follow established safety procedures and facility standards
Participate in ongoing technical operational and safety training
Support team members with facility projects and maintenance initiatives
Participate in occasional on-call or emergency response coverage
Maintain a professional and customer-focused presence when interacting with tenants and building occupants
2 years of experience in commercial facilities maintenance building maintenance repair work or a related skilled trade
Working knowledge of general building systems including HVAC plumbing electrical lighting and mechanical equipment
Ability to troubleshoot HVAC issues and determine when vendor intervention is necessary
Strong mechanical aptitude and general troubleshooting skills
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility and adaptability in a changing maintenance environment
Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word Outlook Excel and Teams
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to frequently climb bend kneel lift and perform physical maintenance activities
Ability to safely work from ladders as required
Trade school education technical training military maintenance experience union training or related college coursework
EPA 608 Universal Certification or willingness to obtain certification
Experience working within a commercial office or tenant-facing environment
Familiarity with CMMS or electronic work order systems
Familiarity with DDC pneumatic controls or building automation systems
Previous experience coordinating with HVAC electrical plumbing or other specialty vendors
