Maintenance Technician

Position Description
Perform a wide variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance work of a skilled and complex nature. Installs repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment and plant facilities necessary for satisfactory operation of equipment and processes. This position is moderately physical.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical electrical/electronic hydraulic and combustion malfunctions and operating difficulties.
• Determines repair procedures and implements those repairs that will be effective in preventing reoccurrence.
• Can navigate and interpret ladder logic in SLC 500 PLC 5 and Control Logix software for the purpose of troubleshooting equipment faults.
• Can modify positions and diagnose problems on ABB robots. Models M94 M98 M2000 M2600 and M6700.
• Installs moves and aligns new and existing equipment.
• Sets up and operates various types of machine shop equipment with a moderate degree of accuracy and efficiency.
• Performs both gas and electric welding operations.
• Completes related machine repair records performs associated handling duties and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.
• Performs all necessary preventive and proactive tasks on plant equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervision and/or designated team leader.

Experience Required

• Months of experience specific to this position (explain) 48 months of related experience in Allen Bradley Hydraulics Robotics and Welding.
• A Maintenance Technician A level must be proficient at troubleshooting die casting machine cells through the use of PLC s and electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Education Required
Must be able to apply principles acquired through technical or vocational subjects (certificates or some college courses)
