The Maintenance Technician provides safe day to day maintenance and repairs of complex mechanical systems pipefitting and preventative maintenance support across the entire plant site for a variety of equipment. This equipment includes but is not limited to pumps centrifuges tanks piping compressors fans heat exchangers structural elements pressure relief devices etc. Repairs rebuilds installation and modification may be required on such equipment on any given day. The Role: Perform preventative and predictive maintenance rounds (inspections vibration measurements infra-red thermography etc.)Troubleshoots and isolates highly complex mechanical problems; implements corrective actions as rebuilds of rotating assembliesRemoval of failed/failing equipment and re-installation of new/rebuilt units piping repairsFabricate weld and lathe as neededAssemble and secure pipes tubes fittings and related equipment according to specifications which may include welding cementing soldering and and Controlling of Repair MaterialsManage relevant Work Orders in the CMMS in support of PM compliance (timely completion / closure etc.)Update maintenance files drawings and documentation. The Person: Journeyperson Candidates (Or Candidate with relative experience):A validjourneyman card indicating successful completion of an accredited apprenticeship programJourneyman Millwright/Associate or Pipefitter/Associate level Industrial Mechanic 3-5 years experience is -Journeyman maintenance mechanic with 10 years experience Candidates:Registered apprentice in the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright or Pipefitter) trade or a related maintenance trade. High School Diploma of or enrollment in a vocational technical or trade program is considered an maintain satisfactory attendance and progress within the applicable apprenticeship and technical training Candidates:Effective written and verbal communication troubleshooting computer proficiency.A background in heavy industry or the chemical process industry is considered an with ANSI/ASME and/or boiler codes is an ability to read and understand mechanical drawings piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) equipment assembly drawings technical manuals blueprints and schematics.
