In this role youll troubleshoot equipment issues perform preventative maintenance support production improve reliability and help build systems that keep our facility operating at its best. Preventive Maintenance (PM): Develop execute and track comprehensive PM schedules for production machinery tools and facility systems using basic Excel and maintenance tracking tools.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Rapidly diagnose and repair mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic and PLC-controlled equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Safety Leadership: Act as the plants Safety Lead by conducting risk walks leading incident reviews and engineering out shop floor hazards.
Inventory Management: Organize and maintain critical spare parts inventory to ensure replacement parts are always available when needed.
Collaborative Support: Partner closely with long-term production team members to optimize equipment efficiency improve floor workflow and support production tasks as needed.
Experience: 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing industrial wood products construction or related operational environments.
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Organizational Ability: Basic computer literacy (Excel email) to manage PM logs track parts inventory and document repairs.
Mindset: Proactive self-motivated patient and assertive with strong communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally and influence best practices.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical certifications or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance Electrical Mechanical Systems or Welding.
Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or automated woodworking/assembly equipment.
Background in truss manufacturing lumber building materials or carpentry.
Bilingual capabilities (English / Spanish).
Forklift and aerial lift maintenance experience.
Hours: Monday Friday Day Shift. Shifts start around 5:30 AM / 6:00 AM to ensure machinery is warmed up and ready before production launch. Fridays are structured around light production to allow dedicated time for major PM tasks and teardowns.
Workplace: Manufacturing and yard environment around moving production equipment saws and forklifts. Regular presence on the production floor with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Attention to Detail: Follows established guidelines and procedures to ensure accuracy; gets work right despite pressing deadlines; concentrates on routine work details and organizes and maintains a system of records; is alert and aware of surroundings and carefully monitors technical equipment or processes.
