Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on CNC machines; following diagrams sketches operations and manuals manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications. Troubleshooting malfunctions and repairs where necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receive work orders identify faulty equipment and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs.

• Troubleshoot repair install and maintain production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery performing both electrical and mechanical work.

• Complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades calibrations and retrofits.

• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools level plumb bobs and straight edges.

• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.

• Review production specifications identify and report capacity restraints.

• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.

• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

• Maintain and acquire new technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.

• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance for CNC grinders and Platit Coating machines.

• General Building Maintenance and Custodial Duties.

• Compliance with local laws industry standards Environmental Health and Safety requirements and relevant ISO certifications.

Education and Experience:

• Highschool diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 6 months industry related experience and/or training.

• Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance is ideal but not .

• 2 years of equipment maintenance in a machine shop environment is .

• Experience with CNC repair and/or robotics is .

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong analytical and problem solving ability.

• Ability to perform maintenance functions such as replacing spindles ball screws bearings slides and other components of machine tools.

• Ability to coordinate and prioritize daily workload based on capacity and customer demands.

• Proficient in MS Office.

• Excellent communication project management and organizational skills.

• Strong understanding of electrical mechanical fluid power and control systems.

• Demonstrated ability to perform electrical mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments.

• High ability to analyze troubleshoot and perform repairs.

• Ability to follow diagrams sketches operations manuals manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing with some lifting bending and twisting.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
