Position Summary:
In this hands-on high-energy role you will assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing maintenance activities leading and developing a team of technicians and ensuring that all equipment and systems operate efficiently safely and reliably. Your leadership will help optimize plant performance reduce downtime and uphold standards of safety and quality.
Starting at $35 an hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
The list is a comprehensive list meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be required and/or assigned.
- Performs routine maintenance the repair of and/or moving of heavy machinery within the production environment.
- Repairs and/or installs electrical lines on production equipment machinery or physical facility.
- Performs general and preventative maintenance plumbing electrical and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facilitys equipment and systems preferred.
- Supports Maintenance Manager in leading and supervising maintenance team to execute preventive predictive and corrective maintenance across all plant equipment and systems.
- Performs leadership/management responsibilities in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
- Foster a culture of safety awareness among team members through training sessions and regular safety audits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Proven supervising or management experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment minimum of two (2) years preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance tasks involving schematics and technical diagrams.
- Demonstrated electrical experience including working with high voltage and low voltage systems; proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters is essential.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams manage projects effectively and communicate fluently in English.
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately; strong troubleshooting skills in electrical mechanical and industrial systems.
- Plastic Injection Molding experience preferred.
- Trade School Certification High School Degree or equivalent are preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities**
The Maintenance Supervisor must be able to:
- Dayshift 6am-2:30pm ** is subject to change based on projects coverage and/or business needs.
- Work nights and/or weekends on call as business dictates.
- Stand bend stretch for hours at a time and lift finished products overhead.
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds if necessary.
- Read and comprehend written instructions and ensure instructions are met and achieved upon review of completed project.
- Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means.
- Ability to multi-task with a high sense of urgency
- Basic computer skills
*Hiring Bonus Criteria
Employees hired into the Maintenance Technician position may be eligible for a Hiringbonus based on the following criteria:
- Must meet all minimum qualifications for the Maintenance Technician role at the time of hire.
- Must successfully complete all onboarding and training requirements.
- Must maintain acceptable attendance during the bonus eligibility period.
- Must remain actively employed and in good standing with Edge Plastics through the payout date(s).
- Bonus will be paid in installments
- $750 after completing 60 days of employment
- $750 after completing 120 days of employment
- $1000 after completing 180 days of employment
- $2500 after completing 270 days of employment
- Employee must not be on a final written warning for performance conduct or attendance at the time of payout.
- Employees who voluntarily resign or are terminated for cause before the payout forfeit remaining bonus amounts.
- Bonus applies to Edge Plastics direct hires ONLY.
