Job Summary

Position Overview

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and provides leadership and technical support for maintenance and engineering operations. Responsible for leading a team of 8 direct reports (4 Maintenance Technicians and 4 Sr. Maintenance Technicians) to achieve company plant and department goals and objectives. Oversees daily maintenance activities and supports equipment reliability and continuous improvement. Develops maintenance and engineering systems and manages projects priorities schedules and budgets. Provides coaching technical guidance and problem-solving support to associates and cross-functional teams. Ensures maintenance and engineering activities comply with safety quality regulatory and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

Compose measurable goals and objectives that have significant impact on departmental operations.
Leads associates to achieve company plant and team goals and objectives.
Monitors team progress and calculates team and individual Associate productivity by creating action plans and provides coaching and feedback.
Creates an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect to activate continuous improvement processes.
Builds rapport and resolves associate conflicts to advocate effective teams through listening and coaching skills.
Expedites information to Associates regarding procedure policy changes technology and corporate philosophy.
Formulates training needs of staff to expand problem solving decision making techniques and develop individual job skills. Conducts supervisory activities such as but not limited to: interviewing counseling performance assessments career development.
Develop maintenance/engineering systems that support manufacturing goals and objectives.
Use conventional and/or complex problem solving techniques and engineering practices to address conflicting design requirements unsuitability of standard materials and difficult coordination requirements.
Ensure equipment and projects comply with OSHA standards government regulations and specifications and process requirements are met and validated.
Develop and manage project budgets and adhere to project schedules and budgets.
Provide technical advice and support; review and approve plans designs schedules etc.
Effectively work with others within the team to achieve team goals.
Prepare daily work schedules for direct reports and contractors in the immediate area of responsibility.
Monitor daily workload and provide support to immediate reports as needed to ensure equipment reliability is meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Required Skills/Education

BS degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; including significant supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of manufacturing and engineering software.
In-depth knowledge of engineering preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
Ability to identify and resolve problems and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and Quality Management Systems.
Ability to implement new technologies methods and concepts in a manufacturing environment.
