Job Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for ensuring all company policies are carried out.
  • Responsible to lead and assist in accident investigations and to complete accident reports within 24 hrs. Of the occurrence.
  • Plans assigns and directs maintenance activities.
  • Utilizes effective communication with all associates.
  • Lead and facilitate corrective action and continuous improvement teams.
  • Responsible for scheduling motivation employee morale and annual performance reviews.
  • Responsible for coaching associates and completing Conduct and Corrective Action reports when necessary.
  • Responsible for conducting shift meetings to discuss objectives and relay important information to the department.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Maintenance department and all maintenance personnel
  • Meets daily or as needed with other supervisors and management staff to review the needs for production and the skilled trades departments.
  • Attend all required meetings training and other activities as specified by management.
  • Responsible for the proper training of associates and building the skill levels of all employees in the Maintenance department.
  • Monitor equipment trends to ensure highest possible operation and reduction of planned/unplanned downtime.
  • Support the skilled trades department and production floor as required.
  • Responsible for the daily approval of employee timecards and accurate completion of all attendance paperwork.
  • Duties and responsibilities may change as deemed by management.
  • Step in when Maintenance Manager deems necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of OSHA / Environmental laws and regulations for Indiana.
  • Knowledge of health safety and environmental principles practices and procedures.
  • Proven experience with electrical hydraulics PLCs metal fabrication and industrial equipment required robotics and automation is a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to determine root causes of accidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to communicate and present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers internet and Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through skills.
  • Proven ability to work as a member or a team and as a team leader.
  • Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Technical certificate associate degree skilled trade with two years experience skilled trades with two years supervisory/leadership experience or four years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with strong mechanical aptitude. Lean manufacturing experience a plus. Bachelors/Associates degree in Business Management Operations Industrial Leadership a plus.
