The Documentation Specialist is responsible for supporting continuous improvement initiatives by developing organizing and maintaining technical documentation related to maintenance safety and operational processes. This role assists with the implementation of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Lean Manufacturing practices preventive maintenance programs SAP documentation work instructions Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and equipment documentation to improve safety reliability and productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop update and maintain technical documentation including SOPs JSAs preventive maintenance procedures operator safety checks and equipment manuals.
  • Create and manage LOTO procedures PM task lists and maintenance plans within SAP.
  • Support TPM Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma JIT and 6S initiatives to drive operational excellence.
  • Review equipment manuals engineering drawings prints and operational procedures to gather and verify technical information.
  • Collaborate with equipment owners operations personnel maintenance teams and contractors to complete documentation projects.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements standardization and workflow efficiencies.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Project to create and manage documentation and reports.
  • Conduct field verification activities including equipment identification labeling and documentation updates.
  • Safely use basic hand tools measurement devices and testing equipment as required.
  • Work from elevated platforms or man-lifts when necessary to perform equipment verification and labeling activities.
  • Complete assigned projects independently while maintaining quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Promote a strong safety culture by following established policies procedures and safe work practices.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to support departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time including work order documentation and time reporting.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail organizational skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers contractors and fellow employees.
  • Meet productivity quality and performance expectations while contributing to cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support team goals through collaboration professionalism and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education training and relevant experience.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in industrial maintenance manufacturing or technical documentation environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of TPM Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma 6S and preventive maintenance processes.
  • Experience with SAP maintenance systems and document management practices preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals engineering drawings safety procedures and maintenance instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in industrial environments as required.
  • Valid Drivers License required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Work may be performed in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions temperature extremes noise dust fumes moving equipment vibration and other site-specific hazards. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer site regulatory medical and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.

Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety quality and productivity expectations.
