Position Overview
Corinth is seeking an individual with experience in both Mainframe DBA and COBOL Programmer for this hybrid role to support our Department of Defense client.
Required Qualifications
Must be US Citizen.
Must currently hold or have held within the past 2 years an active DoD Common Access Card (CAC); equivalent PIV credentials from other federal agencies are accepted provided they are backed by a final favorably adjudicated Tier 3 (or higher) investigation.
Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (CCNA-Security GSEC Security CE SSCP CASP CE CISA CISSP (or Associate) GCED GCIH).
Associate degree or higher.
10 years experience in mainframe database administration COBOL programming or a combination of both.
Proficiency in COBOL JCL and Assembler programming languages for mainframe application development and sustainment.
Experience with mainframe database administration including database structure maintenance performance monitoring and data integrity validation.
Strong working knowledge of JCL Flat-Files CopyLibs and hierarchical database models.
Experience maintaining and enhancing mainframe applications using ISPF CICS and related mainframe utilities.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and shift effectively between technical disciplines.
Experience providing end-to-end SDLC support in a mainframe sustainment environment.
Strong technical writing skills with a demonstrated ability to produce audit-ready documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work across database and programming functions within a multi-disciplinary federal program team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SUPRA the hierarchical database system used in mainframe financial management environments.
Experience supporting both COBOL programming and database administration activities concurrently on the same program.
Familiarity with DoD financial management or contract administration systems in a mainframe environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mainframe database administration functions including database structure maintenance performance monitoring and data integrity validation approximately 50% of time.
Develop test and implement COBOL code changes using MANTIS COBOL JCL and Assembler across mainframe environments approximately 50% of time.
Maintain and enhance mainframe applications leveraging ISPF CICS JCL Flat-Files CopyLibs and hierarchical database models.
Participate in requirements analysis design development and testing activities with other technical teams throughout the SDLC.
Provide full SDLC support for assigned sustainment projects delivering source code unit certifications move sheets and peer review documentation.
Compile and maintain comprehensive documentation reports and artifacts for database changes code changes testing activities and audits.
Work with experienced team members to perform root cause analysis and participate in peer code reviews.
Support system testing and resolve issues documented in Test Discrepancy Reports (TDRs) during SIT and SAT cycles.
