Position: Mainframe Automation System Programmer

Location: Plano TX (Onsit)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Required Experience

11 years of Mainframe Systems Programming experience in large enterprise production environments.
8 years of dedicated Mainframe Automation Engineering experience.
Experience supporting high-volume z/OS environments with multiple LPARs and mission-critical workloads.
Proven experience designing developing and implementing enterprise-wide automation solutions from scratch.
Experience supporting 24x7 production environments with stringent SLA and audit requirements.

Must Have Skills

Expert-level Rexx development with complex automation and recovery routines.
Expert-level CLIST and JCL development.
Strong Systems Programming knowledge of z/OS internals JES2/JES3 PARMLIB APF SMF RMF and RACF.
Advanced experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS) automation and scheduling architecture.
Deep hands-on experience with DB2 for z/OS IMS CICS TS and IBM MQ administration and automation.
Strong expertise in WTOR processing command automation message automation event-driven automation and automated recovery procedures.
Experience developing self-healing automation for production incidents.
Experience automating subsystem startup shutdown validation and recovery procedures.
Strong knowledge of OMEGAMON RMF SMF reporting and performance monitoring.
Experience integrating mainframe automation with enterprise orchestration platforms through APIs and automation frameworks.
Hands-on experience with Git GitHub/GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automation lifecycle management.
Strong understanding of change management audit controls SOX compliance and segregation of duties.

Candidate Must Demonstrate

End-to-end ownership of enterprise automation frameworks.
Experience creating unattended recovery solutions for DB2 IMS CICS MQ and JES failures.
Experience reducing manual operator intervention through automation.
Experience automating production support monitoring recovery and capacity management functions.
Ability to explain complex automation design decisions during technical interviews.
Ability to develop advanced Rexx automation solutions during live technical assessments.
