Job Summary: Join Pratt & Whitneys Columbus Forge team as a Machining Working Lead and play a key role in leading daily machining operations that support some of the worlds most advanced aerospace this role you will combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities serving as a subject matter expert troubleshooting manufacturing challenges supporting continuous improvement efforts and helping develop the next generation of machinists while ensuring safety quality and production goals are achieved.

This is a 2nd Shift position Monday - Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am

What You Will Do:

  • Lead by example on the production floor by providing technical guidance mentoring team members and helping resolve machining and process-related issues.
  • Support daily manufacturing operations by completing production transactions maintaining work-in-process status coordinating tools and supplies and promoting a safe organized work environment.
  • Set up operate and troubleshoot CNC and related machining equipment to produce high-quality aerospace components while meeting safety quality and production standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints process sheets work instructions and precision measurements to ensure parts meet engineering specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance basic equipment repairs tooling adjustments deburring cleaning and inspection activities to support reliable operations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Okuma and/or Fanuc controlled 4-Axis turning lathes
  • Previous experience leading training or mentoring manufacturing team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing systems (e.g. SAP or MRP).
  • Experience in aerospace forging or other precision manufacturing environments.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.
