The Machine Operator/Material Handler position will operate and interact with packaging equipment in a production environment. This will include operating packaging lines handling material movements within plant and working to complete production schedules.

How You Make an Impact

  • Operate with a safety-first mindset
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure all quality standards are met (checking first piece on inbound packaging components some in process testing of materials and communication with lab team
  • Operate equipment up to efficiency standards (depalletizes case conveyers case packers fillers carton erecters palletizers wrappers etc.)
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance and inspections on packaging equipment and or PITs
  • Maintain 5S standards (continuous cleaning of area while plant is operating)
  • Operate powered industrial trucks
  • Maintain cross training on multiple pieces of equipment
  • Remaining up to date with safety LMS and ISO trainings
  • Manual operations may include putting corrugated board on packaging lines handling bottles or cases pouch/bags and cleaning of equipment
  • Employees will be trained and must utilize machine safety standards that will include control of hazardous energy LOTO and fortress keys
  • Employees will be required to be engaged in additional safety programs which include but are not limited to PPE ergonomics PIT and safety/environmental programs.

What You Bring to the Role

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Previous experience in team environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Previous experience with scanners and WMS
  • Forklift experience
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50llbs walk up and down stairs stand and squat multiple times throughout shift. Must be able to hear and see safety devices and warnings
  • Environment: mostly indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment (hot summers cold winters).
