Machine Operator

Machine OperatorThe Independent Record is seeking a full-time machine operator to join the team. This position is responsible for operating machines including the set-up operation and basic maintenance of packing equipment including insert machines stackers strappers and other equipment. Duties include:Set up and operate counterveyorWing mail sorting and bagging of productFeed insert machine head; correct misses and doublesFly and cart/palletize productBreak open pallets record pallet counts on inserters; verify datesTransport pallets to storage stack empty palletsHand-stuff inserts into papers; top inserts on news bundlesJog papers on joggerOperate counter stacker pull sections and jackets stack sections and jackets Monitor conveyor flowOther duties as assignedShift Schedule:Monday: 12pm-8pmTuesday: 10am-6pmWednesday: 12pm-8pmThursday: 10am - 6pmFriday: 12pm to 8pmThe ability to obtain a forklift certification and lift/ carry up to 50 pounds and to push/pull up to 2000 pounds with a pallet jack is required. Manufacturing and machine operating experience is preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older.
