We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team in Elyria Ohio . In this role you will be responsible for setting up operating and maintaining industrial machinery to manufacture high-quality products according to specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude places a high priority on safety and works well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Machine Operation: Set up calibrate and operate equipment
e.g. CNC machines press brakes extruders stamping presses packaging machineryaccording to production schedules and specifications.Quality Control: Inspect raw materials and finished parts using precision measuring tools
e.g. calipers micrometers gaugesto ensure they meet quality standards and engineering drawings.Setup & Adjustments: Adjust machine settings tooling feeds and speeds to optimize efficiency and product accuracy.
Routine Maintenance: Perform basic preventive maintenance cleaning and lubrication on assigned machines; troubleshoot minor operational issues.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to company safety protocols OSHA guidelines Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs material tracking scrap counts and quality control reports.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with shift supervisors quality assurance teams and maintenance staff to keep operations running smoothly.
Education: High School Diploma GED or equivalent vocational training.
Experience:
13years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.Technical Skills:
Ability to read blueprints work instructions and technical documentation.
Familiarity with standard measuring devices
calipers micrometers tape measures.Basic shop math and basic computer entry skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand bend reach and lift up to
50 lbsperiodically throughout an 8- to 12-hour shift.Good hand-eye coordination manual dexterity and close-up visual acuity.
Work Ethic: High attention to detail strong punctuality safety-first mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience in automotive metal fabrication plastics or heavy manufacturing equipment.
Valid Forklift / Material Handling Certification.
Prior experience with
specific machine brand/controller e.g. Haas Fanuc Allen-Bradley.
