Job Summary

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly non-exempt (paid overtime)

GENERAL:

Responsible for maintaining machinery as assigned by the supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge Skills Abilities):

Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have some formal technical education and training in electricity electronics hydraulics and demonstrate proficient performance of all Class C Machine Maintenance essential duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Maintain machinery most machine tools and keep equipment in good operating condition with moderate supervision.
Assist Machine Maintenance Class A and Class C in mechanical and electrical installation repairing of equipment and preventative/ predictive maintenance.
Troubleshoot common mechanical and electrical machinery performance problems and complete repairs promptly.
Operate material handling equipment in compliance with all safety requirements.
Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand for 75% of the working day.
Must be able to manually move lift carry pull or push objects weighing approximately 50lbs on a regular basis.
Must be able to stoop kneel crawl bend and reach several times a day.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders frequently.
Must be able to work in and around dust fumes and odors.
Must be able to work in high places.
Must be able to tolerate a hot work environment seasonally when summer outdoor temperatures combine with residual heat from machines.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to communicate effectively by both written and oral means.
Must be able to understand and reliably carry out extensive and detailed process instructions.
Must be able to retain sufficient instructions to perform repeat tasks successfully and with minimal supervision.
Must be able to comprehend electrical pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
