TITLE OF POSITION: Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher - Level 2

Washington Street Elementary

STARTING DATE: 2026-27 School Year

CLOSING DATE: September 21 2026 at 4:00pm

Otsego Public Schools staff is the heart of the district and we are looking to add a Long-Term Substitute Special Education teacher to our elementary staff.

Primary tasks (non-exhaustive list):

• Instruct students with special needs using alternate achievement standards focusing on functional and independence in addition to addition pushing support into the general education classroom in order to meet students varying needs.
• Collaborate with other teachers or administrators to develop evaluate or revise school support services.
• Confer with other staff members to plan or schedule lessons promoting learning following approved alternative curricula.
• Confer with parents administrators social workers or other professionals to develop individual educational plans (IEPs) for students educational functional and social development.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours
• Experience in the school setting preferred

Some teaching experience strongly preferred; strong desire to teach students with significant disabilities.
