Long-Term Substitute Social Worker

(November 2026-February 2027)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support services to students through individual counseling small-group interventions and classroom-based support.
• Facilitate and support the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to promote student success.
• Establish and maintain positive collaborative relationships with students families staff and community stakeholders through effective communication and partnership.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) conduct Section 504 evaluations and develop and implement appropriate intervention plans and accommodations.
• Promote positive behavior and mental health by teaching and reinforcing skills related to peer relationships problem-solving anger management conflict resolution coping strategies and resilience.
• Participate in diagnostic assessment and educational planning teams providing expertise and assessment data to support students with social emotional and behavioral needs.
• Serve as a liaison between home and school connecting families with appropriate resources and increasing family engagement in student success.
• Coordinate and collaborate with community agencies and outside support providers to develop a comprehensive network of care for students and families.
• Serve as an active member of the district crisis response team supporting prevention intervention and recovery efforts.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development participation in professional organizations attendance at workshops and conferences and review of current research and best practices in the field.
• This position requires regular and reliable in-person attendance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certification as a School Social Worker or CounselorStrong communication skills
• Ability to work as an effective team member withparents teachers and administrators
