Spectra Tech LLC is currently looking for a Logistics Driver to work on a government project at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen MD.
This position is full-time and onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG).
Responsibilities
Transports passengers throughout the installation and on public roads
Prepares receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of passengers to ensure timely and accurate transportation
Must wear pager and/or carry cellular phone (will be provided by Government)
Assure overall appearance maintenance and condition of vehicle is in good working order for transporting high ranking officials and passengers
Assures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking gross vehicle weight rated (GVWR) of vehicle to be loaded (no overhangs no vision obstacles)
Completes trip tickets by annotating daily utilization and preventive maintenance service records (check/completes the daily operation inspection list on the back of the trip ticket)
Completes drivers accident report if vehicle is involved in an accident
Performs review of operation inspection checklist and notifies
Government POC of any discrepancies
Drives both commercial and Government-owned automobiles vans or trucks for short and long distances
Must be flexible with work schedule and willing to work until all assignments are complete
Must have excellent customer service skills for dealing with general public and high-ranking officials
Provides on-the-job training to other contractor personnel
Transports equipment throughout the installation and on public roads. Some loads may contain hazardous material
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance
Possession of a valid Class A B or C Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with endorsements that may include air brakes passenger and/or hazardous materials depending on the customer and the requirements for the position
Must have a clean driving record (no DWI DUI or major violations to include accidents within the past eighteen (18) months)
Requires ten (10) years of driving experience
Must become familiar with ARL facilities and restricted areas
Must become familiar with access gates and roads in and around Aberdeen Proving Ground
Must be appropriately dressed when transporting or escorting officials in a clean and neat business appearance
Physical Requirements
Ability to follow and adhere to all physical CDL and DOT Requirements
Frequently lifting and carrying light-to-heavy weight objects (10 to 50 pounds) and continually walking bending stooping and reaching
Ability to push loaded carts store and issue items in crowded quarters while handling some awkward hard to handle items
Prolonged periods sitting standing and walking
See details of objects that are more than a few feet away
Use fingers to grasp move or assemble very small objects
Make fast repeated movements of fingers hands and wrists
See differences between colors shades and brightness
Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm
Use one or two hands to grasp move or assemble objects
