Location:

This is a hybrid opportunity based in Newport Beach California combining in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Note:

Candidates must have 4 years of directly relevant civil litigation experience a Juris Doctor degree and an active California Bar license. Significant hands-on experience taking and defending depositions handling court appearances and mediations drafting and opposing motions and independently managing litigation matters is essential.

Job Description

• Manage litigation matters from case opening through resolution.
• Counsel clients regarding legal strategy risks and recommended courses of action.
• Take and defend depositions of parties witnesses and experts.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery.
• Draft motions oppositions briefs memoranda contracts and other legal documents.
• Attend hearings court appearances mediations conferences and other proceedings.
• Review discovery materials and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Research statutes case law and court rulings and identify potential legal risks.
• Prepare comprehensive trial briefs and other trial materials.
• Represent clients in hearings trials and other legal proceedings.
• Maintain organized case files deadlines and matter status from opening through close.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments and strategy.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and legal support professionals.
• Meet an annual billable requirement of approximately 1900 hours.

Qualifications

• 4 years of civil litigation experience.
• Active California Bar license required.
• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Significant experience taking and defending depositions.
• Strong experience with discovery motion practice mediations and court appearances.
• Construction defect general liability personal injury or business litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Strong legal research writing analytical persuasion and negotiation skills.
• Ability to independently manage litigation matters and competing deadlines.
• Excellent client communication and relationship-management skills.
• Strong organization judgment professionalism and attention to detail.
• Administrative or managerial experience preferred.
